Sunday: Seventh Sunday after Pentecost

Revised Common Lectionary – Year A

Text: Psalm 86:11-17 or Matthew 13:24-30, 36-43

Dollar Store Item: A family story about life, and asking for help… OR Two items that look a like but are different. A real diamond and a fake one. Art work that is real, and one that is fake.

The Take Away: This Psalm reminds us that God listens, and that the Psalmist (along with others) prayers the honest prayer that we can pray to our God who listens to us. OR We are told that God will know in the end those who are weeds and those who are wheat… Grace makes us Wheat, and we treat everyone we meet like they are the real deal.

  1. Great stuff! I’m using it! I’m pretty sure I’ve got baking chocolate, which looks just like regular chocolate, but has no sugar and chocolate chips.
Thank you, John. Your podcast, whether I use it or not, always lifts my spirits.
