The Take Away: Jesus cares for his friends, as do you and me. We are friends of Jesus, too.

Instead of a safety cone, I asked for parents, grandparents, Sunday School teachers and anyone who loves kids to come up and form a path from the baptismal font to the cross. Then I took the kids along the path talking about how all these people help us follow Jesus. And when we leave the path (we wandered away) the people in the path, parents, Gparents, teachers, pastors, others who love us call us to ‘repent’ – change direction – and come back to follow Jesus. (Also when we were outside the path, I asked if God still loves us even when we aren’t following Jesus? They got the answer right!)
