(I mentioned a DSCS using a paper bag magic trick… I looked and couldn’t find it… so here is a response to someone (Thanks, Josh) that asked about it:

Hey Josh! Took me a while to find it, but here is the link that shows you how to make the bag…

But I can’t find the sermon for All Saints Sunday that I used it with. So I will briefly go over it now.

First the link to the making the bag (if you have questions about it, ask me please):

So, after you make the bag…. Inside the main compartment, you have slips of paper that you have printed a star on each slip (folded up into quarters)… but every single one of them has a star on it, and are folded up and put in the main compartment. You do not show the kids the inside of the bag.

You have outside of the bag in a little bowl other slips of paper that are blank… except for one. You show the one that has the star… fold that into quarters, and put it in the main compartment. You then show that the others are blank. You put these into the hidden compartment (which will make sense when you watch the video).

So you have essentially taken all the blank slips of paper out of play.

You then say, “For this, I am going to need the help of one special person… and you are going to reach in and grab a slip of paper. You are not going to look at it yet.”

Everyone takes a slip of paper.

“Now you are going to look at your paper secretly, and you aren’t going to say whether your paper has a star on it or not…”. (Every single one has a star on it).

“Ok, on the count of three, the person that has the star is going to put their hand in the air and say, “It’s ME!!!!”

1, 2… 3… And every single kid says, “It’s Me!!!”

“You are right…. YOU all are Saints!!!”
