Text: Revelation 22:12-14, 16-17, 20-21; John 17:20-26; Ephesians 1:15-23; Luke 24:44-53
Dollar Store Item: None
The Take Away: With the repetition of the texts, and the theme of love and the Spirit, I thought this is a good time to remind the kids that they are Saints of God, set apart by God’s Spirit. We will have all the congregation standup (physically or in Spirit), but just a small group at a time. “Is that all the congregation?” No… more stnad up. Then when all the congregation is standing, “Is that all?” “No…” because the kid and I will not be standing. “All the Saints” in the last verse of Revelaton. We are called to be one, which can be seen as “All belong!”
You could use the second reading in the Ascension texts, when Paul says the church is the body… to remind the kids and the congregation that we are part of that body! All of us.
“You are Witnesses to these things.” – Comedian Pete Holmes says, “Listen to me!”, when he is making a grand statemwnt. Luke reminds the people and us that we are witnesses to these things. Where have the kids witnesses the love of Jesus?

The Take Away: We are all one in Christ Jesus, and so we will talk about what “All” means. We will have all the congregation standup (physically or in Spirit), but just a small group at a time. “Is that all the congregation?” No… more stnad up. Then when all the congregation is standing, “Is that all?” “No…” because the kid and I will not be standing. So we all stand up!
I am so very close, so I am posting this for the last time.
If you find the DSCS helpful and would like to donate, thank you!
You can do so, easily, through PayPal:
I have asked before for donations, and usually I have done so vaguely. Sometimes being a little more specific, but nothing with a specific purpose. And many of you have given and its been very heartwarming.
Thinking about it, the last time I asked with a very specific purpose was for a similar purpose. I had dropped my iPad, and it hit the powerbutton in a particular place where I could no longer turn the iPad on…
This time is for a similar purpose. My hardware is failing, and I am in the process of replacing my hardware, and hopefully purchasing a MacBook Air. The ability for video and sound editing make this a good choice.
So, with that goal in mind, I am asking the below:
If you have ever considered donating to the DSCS, now is a great time. It would extremely helpful and appreciated. No amount is too small (or too big). Any donation will help offset the higher cost of hardware replacement.
