The Take Away: We don’t say the word, “Alleluia” so we remember the word, “Alleluia,” and we hide the Alleluia in a place that we know where the Alleluia is to be found, because we really can’t lose it in the first place. Or… like Jesus, we are reminded of who loves us and claims us as Children, in the waters of Baptism.

The Take Away: We do lots of things to show love, and Ash Wednesday reminds us that even in the hardest and most human times, God shows us love by being with us when things are hard. God doesn’t say things won’t be hard, but that God will be with us in those times. —- Ashes on the forehead sit above the mark of the cross made in baptism (baptimsal font connection).

Text: Luke 2:22-40, Galatians 4:4-7

Dollar Store Item: The End of something. The Book, “The Monster at the End of the Book.” A candle that is nearly the end. A Baptismal Candle to talk about blessings, or a sign of the Cross with Baptismal Waters.

The Take Away: Endings can seem scary, but with God’s Grace and Love, endings are but beginnings. In the End, God makes all things new. End of the year, reminds of the New Year. Jesus is taken to the temple for a blessing, and we are blessed in this place.
